Below are some frequently asked questions by our members that we thought would be useful for your perusal.

What to wear 
Do I need to have the correct footwear for my first dance class?
We understand that you may want to trial the class first before purchasing expensive shoes. If you plan to
commit to these classes you will then need to purchase the appropriate footwear.

Who do I give my application form / PAR-Q to?
Please email your completed application form / PAR-Q to Sally Hooper at least 48 hours prior to your first
class so that if there are any issues raised in the PAR-Q section these can be discussed with Sally first. All
members of the teaching faculty have the right to refuse participation in their classes if they feel your health
is at risk and want you to seek medical advice before trying their class.

What do I need to bring with me?
Appropriate dance wear (examples are provided in the class description information for each genre)
CASH for payment on the night if applicable to you. Water bottle, towel.

Are there any car parking facilities?
Yes, on a first come first served basis. These are located directly behind our building. As you turn off East
Street and look straight ahead - the entrance to our car park is on the left and Staples/Majestics car park is
on the right (please take care not to park in their car park as some of our members have previously been
fined for doing so).

Are there any changing facilities?
Yes, we have male and female changing rooms, should you wish to use them please ask our reception and
they will show you where they are.

What other facilities do you have?
On arrival we have a reception, here you will be signed in for your class and cash payment will be taken for
those who have chosen the Drop In pass option. We then have a seated area upstairs with tables and chairs
available for you relax and chat to other members while you wait for your class to commence. We have water
fountains for you to fill your water bottles in advance of your class commencing. We also have male and
female changing facilities and toilets.
ANY personal belongings that you bring with you, please take these into the studio of your class. DO
NOT leave them outside the studio or in the waiting area as Laine Theatre Arts cannot be responsible
for theft or loss of your own personal belongings.

What are the payment options?
Passes must be paid for at least 24 hours in advance of the first class you wish to attend. Individual classes
can be paid for on the night by CASH only.

I'm not sure if this particular Dance class will be the right level or suitable for me, which is the best
payment option?
The Drop In pass is highly recommend for this situation as we are unable to offer a refund on any of our term
or class passes for reasons such as it being unsuitable, not enjoyable or such like. The Drop In pass is
perfect as you can try out the class first with just a one off payment. If you are happy and want to continue
you can then decide if one of the other types of passes is more suitable for you.

I have purchased a 10 / 11 Week Class Pass, am I able to carry any unused passes over to the next
term?
All passes must be used within the term they are bought for and cannot be carried forward into a new term.

Can the 10 / 11 Week Class Pass be used for any of the classes or just one genre i.e. Tap OR Ballet
only?
These passes are for multiple class use so you may use them for all classes of your choice, they are not
specific to just one type of class.

The office is now closed - I wanted to purchase one of the class passes, can I just turn up on the
night and pay for it then?
All passes must be paid for at least 24 hours in advance of the first class you wish to attend. If you turn up to
that class having not purchased one of these then the Drop In payment will be required.

Can I use a debit / credit card to pay the Drop In fee on the night of my class?

Unfortunately we do not have a card payment machine available on our reception in the evenings so CASH
only can be accepted.

Can I pay the Drop In fee by cheque on the night of my class?
Cheques can no longer be accepted, CASH only payments are accepted for the Drop In pass.
My friend is no longer able to attend any classes, can I transfer all of their unused passes into my
name and use for the remainder of the term?
Passes can only be used by the person who it was originally intended for.

Will I always have the same teacher for my classes?
We endeavour to ensure that your teacher remains the same for your classes however, events can
sometimes happen out of our control i.e. illness or injury and we will always aim to provide a cover teacher
so that your classes never have to be cancelled.

The weather is very bad and I’m unsure whether the classes will still be running in the evening, how
will I know if they are?
Laine Theatre Arts will, at all times, strive to open and provide the best service it can. Should it be necessary
to close for any reason i.e. weather conditions, fire, safety risks, we will endeavour to provide a daily update
on the homepage of our website so please visit this if you are ever unsure.

I turned up to my 8:00pm class at 8:35pm and I couldn't get in to the building, I would like my
payment for this particular class to be refunded.
For safety reasons our building can only be entered by pass code during normal working hours. For the Adult
Classes in the evening we provide a working reception from 6:30pm until 8:30pm to allow access to the
building. If you arrive before or after these hours you will be unable to gain access and therefore a refund will
not be provided.

I have sustained an injury in my personal time and my doctor has told me that I must not do any
physical activity for some weeks. I have one of your dance passes and would like to know if I am able
to freeze it until I can do physical activity again?
Every case will be treated on its own personal merit, please contact Sally Hooper for us to deal with your
request further. A doctors note will be required as proof.

Laine Theatre Arts does not accept responsibility for any financial loss or expense incurred by third
parties where circumstances are beyond it’s control. Laine Theatre Arts considers such
circumstances to include fire, weather conditions that prevent it from being open for classes and
other such occurrences. Laine Theatre Arts will, at all times, strive to open and provide the best
service it can. Should it be necessary to close, we will endeavour to provide a daily update on the
